It's Apple event season and the new iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max have been announced, here's everything that's new.

Apple has finally announced its latest flagship iPhones on the 13th of October 2020 during its "Hi, Speed" event: the $999 iPhone 12 Pro, and the $1,099 12 Pro Max. With faster chips, new designs and improved cameras, there's a lot to talk about.
5G is here!
One of the main focuses of Apple's event was 5G which has been introduced across all of their new phones, and the iPhone 12 Pro is no exception.
Apple has engineered custom antennas and radio components for high sensitivity and incredible efficiency. They've also optimised their entire software stack to take advantage of 5G, and thanks to Smart Data mode, When your iPhone doesn’t need 5G speeds, like when it’s making updates in the background, it automatically uses LTE to save battery life.
A14 Bionic
Apple has created the first 5-nanometer chip in the industry, boasting up to 50% faster CPU and GPU than any other smartphone chip, up to 80% faster Neural Engine and up to 70% faster machine learning accelerators.
The new camera system

Apple has once again improved the camera system on its flagship phones, however this year there is a slight difference between the 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max:
The iPhone 12 Pro now has night mode on both the Wide and Ultra Wide cameras, which are now better at capturing low-light shots. Thanks to the new LiDAR sensor, Night mode portraits are now possible and the Wide camera lets in 27% more light, for greater detail and sharper focus day or night.

The iPhone 12 Pro Max pushes these features even further, with a 47% larger sensor and larger pixels that increases the amount of light gathered on the Wide camera. A new OIS stabilizes the sensor instead of the lens so your shots are steady and the new 65 mm Telephoto camera gives you 5X optical zoom range.
Both iPhones have jumped from 8- to 10‑bit HDR recording, capturing 700 million colours for much more lifelike video and now come with the ability to record in Dolby Vision, the format used by film studios.

The Design
This is the first major redesign for Apple’s full-screen smartphones since it introduced the bezel-less design with the iPhone X in 2017. With their new square edges and slimmer bezels, the iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max now have bigger Super Retina XDR displays with the 12 Pro getting a 6.1-inch display vs the 5.8-inch 11 Pro, and the Pro Max now has a 6.7-inch display vs the 6.5-inch 11 Pro Max.
The iPhone screen has also been improved with the new "Ceramic Shield" that is supposed to make the iPhone screen up to 4X stronger!
The Pro models also feature a stainless steel design (instead of the aluminium on the iPhone 12) in four colours: grey, stainless steel, gold, and a new blue.

MagSafe is back!
Finally, the last new feature that's been introduced to this years flagship iPhones is MagSafe, which uses magnetic pins to connect the MagSafe charging cable with the back of the gadget. It's not just for charging but serves as a magnetic attachment system for different accessories, all of which can snap right onto the back of the iPhone 12 like wallets and cases.

There you have it, all the best new features coming to this year's flagship iPhones!
